Vision

To create a physically, psycho socially, and cognitively developed generation of Sri Lankan Children in the early childhood.

Mission

As the national focal institution to ensure the holistic development of Sri Lankan Children in early childhood through formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies and programmes.

Primary Goals

• Formulating national policies on early childhood care and development and acting as the implementation machinery.
• Co-ordinating and networking of early childhood development programmes in the governmental, non governmental and privete sectors.
• Conducting researches, collecting data and compiling programmes related to early childhood development programmes.
• Working out and implementing training programmes concerning the total development of children in their early childhood.
• Educating public on the importance of early childhood and creating sensitiveness of it in them.
